NGC 6918 (also ESO 234-40, IRAS 20272-4738 and PGC 64851) is a magnitude +13.6 barred spiral galaxy located 240 million light-years away away in the constellation Indus.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 45.72 cm (18 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 1st July 1834.
