NGC 6565 (also ESO 456-70, HD 166468 and PK 3-4.5) is a magnitude +11.6 planetary nebula located 14,000 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius.
The planetary nebula was discovered by American astronomer Edward Charles Pickering using a 38.1 cm (15 inch) refractor at the Harvard College Observatory on the 14th July 1880.
