NGC 3809 (also MCG 10-17-40, UGC 6649 and PGC 36263) is a magnitude +12.7 spiral galaxy located 158 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 20th August 1866.
