NGC 721 (also IRAS 01517+3908, MCG 6-5-43, UGC 1376 and PGC 7097) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy located 257 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 27th August 1862.
