NGC 403 (also MCG 5-3-68, UGC 715 and PGC 4111) is a magnitude +12.5 spiral galaxy located 234 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 29th August 1862.
