NGC 6936 (also ESO 528-22, MCG -4-48-21 and PGC 65033) is a magnitude +12.7 elliptical galaxy located 268 million light-years away in the constellation Capricornus.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth using a 66.04 cm (26 inch) Alvan Clark & Sons refracting telescope at the Leander McCormick Observatory at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia on the 1st September 1885.
