NGC 7531 (also ESO 291-10, IRAS 23120-4352, MCG -7-47-25 and PGC 70800) is a magnitude +11.3 spiral galaxy located 73 million light-years away in the constellation Grus.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 2nd September 1836.
