NGC 7697 (also IC 5333, ESO 110-12, IRAS 23320-6540 and PGC 71800) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy located 92 million light-years away in the constellation Tucana.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen Road, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 6th September 1836. The galaxy was rediscovered by DeLisle Stewart in August 1900 and relisted as IC 5333.
