Messier 52 (also M52, NGC 7654 and OCL 260) is a magnitude +5.0 open star cluster located 5,000 ±2000 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia.
The cluster was discovered by French astronomer Charles Messier using a 8.38 cm (3.3-inch) refracting telescope at the Hôtel de Cluny (now the Musée national du Moyen Age), in Paris, France on the 7th September 1764.

One study identified 193 probable members of the cluster, with the brightest member being magnitude 11. Read more
