NGC 7340 (also MCG 6-49-52 and PGC 69362) is a magnitude +13.7 elliptical galaxy located 294 million light-years away in the constellation Pegasus.
The galaxy was discovered by Anglo-Irish astronomer George Stoney using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr castle on the 10th September 1849.
