NGC 1463 (also ESO 117-9, IRAS 03453-5957 and PGC 13807) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy located 288 million light-years away in the constellation Reticulum.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 6th October 1834.
