NGC 785 (also IC 1766, MCG 5-5-46, UGC 1509 and PGC 7694) is a magnitude +13.0 elliptical galaxy located 229 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 25th October 1876.
The galaxy was rediscovered by Edward Barnard and relisted as IC 1766.
