NGC 855 (also IRAS 02111+2738, MCG 5-6-16, UGC 1718 and PGC 8557) is a magnitude +12.6 elliptical galaxy located 27 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 26th October 1786.
