NGC 634 (also IRAS 01354+3507, MCG 6-4-48, UGC 1164 and PGC 6059) is a magnitude +13.9 spiral galaxy located 226 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum. 

The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 26th October 1876.

Position (J2000): R.A. 01h 38m 18.679s  |  Dec. +35° 21' 53.47"

In 2008 it became a prime target for observations thanks to the violent demise of a white dwarf star.
