NGC 6299 (also MCG 10-24-97 and PGC 59561) is a magnitude +14.1 elliptical galaxy located 274 million light-years away in the constellation Draco.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 27th October 1861.
