NGC 3567 (also MCG+01-29-011 and UGC 6230) are a pair of merging galaxies located in the constellation Leo. NGC 3567-1 (MCG 1-29-11, UGC 6230 and PGC 34004) is a magnitude +13.3 spiral galaxy located 291 million light-years away. NGC 3567-2 (MCG 1-29-12 and PGC 34013) is a magnitude +13.9 elliptical galaxy located 287 million light-years away.
The galaxies were discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 13th April 1784.
