A small 10 - 23 metre asteroid 2006 DQ14 (K06D14Q) passed 1.2 million miles (about 5.2 Lunar distances) from the Earth during 21-22 February 22nd 2006. 2006 DQ14 follows an orbit around the sun that is very similar to Earth's. This has lead to the speculation that it is a discarded Apollo rocket body. 2006 DQ14 was observed near Earth in 1977-1979. The next close approach will be in September 16 2029. 2006 DQ14 is currently at 19th magnitude, moving at 3.52 km/s through the constellation Leo. 2006 DQ14 was discovered by LONEOS
