NGC 3836 (also MCG -3-30-10, VV 477, IRAS11409-1631 and PGC 36445) is a magnitude +12.9 spiral galaxy located 169 million light-years away in the constellation Crater.

The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Wilhelm Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/19 refracting telescope at the Arcetri Observatory on the 29th April 1877.

Right Ascension 11h 43m 29.8s, Declination -16° 47' 51"
