NGC 4143 (also MCG 7-25-36, UGC 7142 and PGC 38654) is a magnitude +10.8 barred spiral galaxy located 44 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road in Slough, Berkshire, on the 14th January 1788.
