NGC 3012 (also MCG 6-22-17, UGC 5262 and PGC 28270) is a magnitude +13.5 elliptical galaxy located 536 million light-years away in the constellation Leo Minor.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 30th April 1862.
