Discovery of two massive stars with a magnetic field in a binary system

A Canadian PhD student has discovered a unique object - two massive stars with magnetic fields in a binary system. Matt Shultz of Queen's University, Ontario, Canada found the system - Epsilon Lupi - and publishes the new result in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

Epsilon Lupi is a multiple star system in the southern constellation of Lupus. At an apparent visual magnitude of 3.41, Epsilon Lupi can be readily viewed from the southern hemisphere with sufficiently dark skies.
