NGC 895 (also known as IRAS 02191-0544, MCG-1-7-2 and PGC 8974) is a magnitude +11.7 face-on spiral galaxy located about 105 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus. A region of star formation in the galaxy arm is catalogued as NGC 894.
The galaxy was discovered by the German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor, on the 10th September 1785.
