NGC 5091 (also ESO 270-4, MCG -7-27-55 and PGC 46626) is a magnitude +13.1 spiral galaxy located 162 million light-years away in the constellation Centaurus. The galaxy is gravitationally interacting with the neighbouring galaxy NGC 5090.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 3rd June 1834.
