A magnitude 6.0 aftershock occurred at 10:09:08 UTC.
Another magnitude 5.9 aftershock was felt at 11:07:37 UTC.

Initial reports say that 5 people have been killed on the western shore of Java by a 2 metre high Tsunami.

A strong magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred at 09:13:10 (UTC) on Monday, July 17, 2006, South of Java, Indonesia, 210km SSW of Tasikmalaya, Java, at a depth of 46.6 km.

Location 9.133°S, 107.653°E



A major magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred at 08:19:30 (UTC) on Monday, July 17, 2006, South of Java, Indonesia, 225 km NE of Christmas Island, at a depth of 48.6 km.
