Due to the sensitive nature of the satellite, JAXA did not disclose the exact size, weight, or time it separated from the rocket. The agency also did not offer the usual live launch broadcast. However, about a half-hour after launch JAXA reported that the rocket had successfully placed the satellite in orbit

The launch of the rocket was initially scheduled for Sunday, but was postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions.

The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency has launched the intelligence- gathering satellite from the Tanegashima Space Centre in Kagoshima Prefecture on the 11 September.



The H-2A No 10 rocket lifted off from Japan's space centre at 13:35 local time (04:35 GMT).
According to officials, the satellite separated successfully from the rocket.

The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency has said that they will launch a rocket carrying a spy satellite at 1:35 p.m. on Monday, from the Tanegashima Space Centre in Kagoshima Prefecture.

The launch has been put back to 2006 September 11th, 12:00 to 15: 00 (JST)
The Launch period extends from 2006 September 12th to September 30th (Saturday)
