Windows Live Writer is a desktop application for bloggers using Windows Live Spaces or a blog service. Live Writer has lots of features such as WYSIWYG authoring, photo publishing, map publishing, Writer SDK and compatibility.
Along with the release of WLMD build 932, Live.com also got an update today. Though this one is not quite as big.
Live.com is now one of the few pages to include the new "Orb Menu". The Orb Menu is the icon in the top left of the page, when you click on it, a navigational menu drops down with links to other Windows Live services.
Microsoft's Aug. 1 launch of its Windows Live Spaces blogging/social-networking platform has not been a smooth one.
Customers of Microsoft's successor to MSN Spaces are reporting a variety of performance, publishing, rendering and browser-compatibility issues since Microsoft rolled out the final version of Windows Live Spaces on Aug. 1. Windows Live Spaces Program Manager Greg Phipps acknowledged on the Space Craft Live Spaces blog that the Spaces team "disappointed a bunch of you with the issues we had in our rollout last night." Phipps noted that in the first 12 hours that the new platform went live, poor Spaces performance was the order of the day.
Tonight Microsoft will announce the launch of Windows Live Spaces, a blogging and social networking site on the Live.com platform. As Microsoft phases out the MSN brand in favour of Live.com, they’ve moved services over one at a time to the new platform. Unlike Windows Live Messenger, though, which runs in parallel with MSN Messenger, Live Spaces is taking over MSN Spaces completely - MSN Spaces pages now redirect to Live Spaces URLs.
