180m-year-old dinosaur fossils discovered in SW China

Two dinosaur fossils from the Jurassic period have been discovered in Yunnan Province, southwest China.
The two fossils have been identified as Lufengosaurus Magnus and Lufengosaurus Huenei by the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology. They were discovered during road work in Lufeng County, Yunnan Province, last month.

Researchers say new dinosaur found in northern Alaska

Researchers have uncovered a new species of plant-eating dinosaur in Alaska, according to a report published Tuesday.
The animal was a variety of hadrosaur, a duck-billed dinosaur that roamed in herds, said Pat Druckenmiller, earth sciences curator at the University of Alaska Museum in Fairbanks.

Colorado Team Says Possible New Dinosaur Found in Montana

Experts at the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center are confident the bones found by a team in Montana are those of a previously undiscovered species.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports outside experts will confirm whether this is indeed a new species of dinosaur, nicknamed Ava due to its resemblance to the plant-eating Avaceratops.

Researchers have discovered what appear to be the remnants of red blood cells and connective tissue in 75 million-year-old dinosaur fossils.
The work could shine a light on long-standing questions about dinosaur physiology, including whether specific species were warm- or cold-blooded.

Whitby sauropod dinosaur fossil is UK's oldest

Britain's oldest sauropod dinosaur has been identified from a fossil bone discovered on the North Yorkshire coast, experts have revealed.
Its veterbra was discovered after it fell from a cliff face onto a beach near Whitby. Tests by University of Manchester scientists indicate it is about 176 million years old, dating from the Middle Jurassic period.

Tiny Chinese dinosaur sported unusual wings, fossil suggests

Dinosaurs normally used wings mostly made of feathers for flight. But the newly discovered creature evidently had wings made of skin instead, like those of a bat or some ancient flying reptiles.

The bony appendages that ran down the backs of these animals made them among the most iconic of dinosaur species. But quite what their purpose was is something of a mystery.
