The Stanway Game

The grave contained a board game, with the glass counters laid out as if in play. Surviving metal corners and hinges from the 'game' board allowed a reconstruction to be created, it is believed to be 55cm by 40 and rectangle with play over a board of 8x12 squares. Dr Irving Finkel, Curator of Games at the British Museum, speculates that, in the absence of dice, the game is one of strategy.
The white and blue glass counters, 13 for each player, were ranged against each other, similar to a Chess opening. All pieces were of equal size except for a single smaller white bead, the only piece positioned close to the board centre. The two teams of uneven strength, similar to Tablut, suggest that the game's origin was in the Iron Age as opposed to the Roman World.
Some people believe this board may also have been used along with the metal rods for divining purposes.

Replacing the system of wants and fears from The Sims 2, wishes take two forms. Lifetime Wishes are chosen when you first create a Sim and limited by your selected personality traits - Graham's life goal is to become Master of the Arts by learning to paint and play guitar. Along the way, smaller wishes inspired by the events in a Sim's life present themselves. When your Sim wishes something, you can dismiss it or promise to make it happen. There's no punishment for failure, but accomplishing wishes gathers Lifetime Happiness points that can be spent on special rewards. Like, for example, a fertility treatment that increases the chance of twins and triplets. A ghost seen, a wife married, a newly learned recipe and some guitar practice later, little Ada and Boudica are born.

Maybe it's neat, childish, lucky, ambitious and insane - just depends on what traits gamers choose for their neighbourhood of virtual playthings in "The Sims 3," Electronic Arts and Maxis' popular life-simulating game for the PC and Mac.
Executive producer Ben Bell said it will focus more on social behaviour than ever before.
