NASAs Terra satellite captured this image of the Karymsky Volcano on March 25, 2007.
On the south side of the Volcano, volcanic ash from earlier eruptions can be seen staining the surrounding snowy landscape.

According to the Russian local emergencies centre The Karymsky volcano on the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia's Far East has increased its activity, spewing ash up to an altitude of 6,900 metres.
The emissions pose no threat to local residents, but there is a danger to aircraft flying near the volcano.

The Karymsky Volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia released a faint plume on November 29, 2006. The Terra satellite took this picture as the plume blew eastward over the ocean. East of the plume, brighter white clouds dotted the sky.
