Tropical cyclone Clovis struck Madagascar at about 06:00 GMT on 3 January. Landfall was near 20.3 S, 49.3 E. Clovis brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 120 km/h.
Tropical storm Clovis is heading towards Madagascar. Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Centre suggest that the point of landfall will be near 19.5 S, 49.0 E. Clovis currently has 1-minute maximum sustained winds of around 64 km/h. Wind gusts maybe considerably higher.
