A Pasco man whose hobby is collecting rocks from outer space thinks he has made two major finds that could shake up conventional thinking about meteors and comets.
Tom Calvert, a 59-year-old retired ironworker, believes a 9-pound hunk of igneous-like rock he found in Idaho 20 years ago is the only known comet rock on Earth.
The irregular-shaped rock is unique in having a large hole right through it, suggesting that something very hot created the void.

Is the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill An Extinction Level Event?

The words "Extinction Level Event" have been used in recent articles to describe what we are facing. To scientists that means a whole lot. To the rest of us it is just a bunch of pretty words.
Extinction Level Event, folks. On par with the meteor that took out the dinosaurs. That is what some say we are facing at this very moment. The end of life as we know it, a full two years before the whole crazy 2012 movement expected.

After leaving Earths surface 33 years ago, the Voyager 2 spacecraft may have been hijacked by aliens, it has been claimed.
Scientists had installed a 12-inch disk containing music and greetings in 55 languages in case intelligent extraterrestrial life ever found it, but the spacecraft is sending signals in an unknown format.

Ireland's leading UFO researcher says Derry's ancient history may be behind the surge in sightings of mystery lights in the city's skies.
Betty Meyler, President of the UFO Society of Ireland, says energy levels derived from megalithic sites around the city - such as the ancient burial fort at Grianan or the recently discovered souterrain close to Newbuildings - may be attracting the celestial objects to the city.
