Tara Patmore of Lloydminster and her husband were among dozens of people who found pieces of the massive Buzzard Coulee meteor that lit up Western Canadian skies in November.
And now she's cashing in the little rocks, some as small as her palm, that landed in her father's former farm by selling them to friends as well as to strangers via the Internet on Kijiji and Craigslist.

Months after a fireball soared through western Canadian skies and crashed to the ground, fragments from the meteor are red-hot sellers on the internet.
Tara Patmore, who lives in Lloydminster, a city on the Alberta-Saskatchewan border, was among dozens of people out looking for space rocks after the meteor scattered fragments around Buzzard Coulee, Sask., on Nov. 20.

Two classes of ES Laird Middle school Grade 7 students were given poles with magnets and asked not to use them as swords before they headed into the fields to search for space rocks.
The kids found their first meteorite before the search even started, right by the road while they were lining up in a straight line.

The valuable bowling-ball sized piece, weighing 13 kilograms, was donated to the university by farmer Alex Mitchell.
An oilfield worker found it on Mitchell's property and turned it over to him.

The search for space rocks continue in Buzzard Coulee at the landing site of the meteorite that flashed across the November sky.

"It turns out that meteorites are easier to find with the snow gone, and the Easter weekend has seen a surprising number of recoveries with dozens found by many different people. The stand out was the recovery on Good Friday of another 10 kilogram stone" - Dr. Alan Hildebrand,  University of Calgary.
