The Bruce County Astronomical Society, in partnership with the Bluewater Education Foundation, will mark the International Year of Astronomy by building of an observatory at the Outdoor Education Centre. The observatory will house the telescope donated by the University of Guelph in 2005, along with a number of smaller telescopes owned by the Institute for Outdoor Education and Environmental Studies. It will be accessible to more than 2,000 kids who visit the Outdoor Education Centre each year, as well as to BCAS members. It will also be available for public use during planned viewings.
