When a meteorite crashes to the earth it will generally break up in the atmosphere, spreading its pieces over a certain area in what is known as a strewn field. Two areas in Kansas have long been known among experts to be rich in meteorite materials from long ago. One is the Brenham strewn field near Greensburg; the other is the Admire strewn field northeast of Emporia. Both strewn fields have attracted the interest and efforts of meteorite collectors, hunters and experts in the field of meteoritics. Source Latitude: 38°42'0.00"N, Longitude: 96° 5'59.84"W
