A magnitude 15.5 Type Ia supernova, 2009kk, was discovered on the  15th October, 2009, by the Catalina Real-Time Transient Survey,  in the galaxy 2MASX J03494330-0315348 in the constellation Eridanus.
The supernova is located 14.5" east and 16.9" south from the center of the galaxy.
