Name: LA CRIOLLA
Place of fall: E. of Estancion La Criolla, 15 km WNW. of Concordia, Entre Rios province, Argentina.
31°14'S., 58°10'W
Date of fall: 6 January, 1985, 1815 hrs.
Class and type: Stone. Olivine-hypersthene chondrite (L6).
Number of individual specimens: Not reported, but many.
Total weight: 35 kg, approximately
Circumstances of fall: After a bright fireball and many detonations, tens of meteorites fell over a 7 x 10 km ellipsoid area E. of Estancion La Criolla. Three fragments recovered weighed 6.1 kg, 1.95 kg and 750 g.

On 6 January 1985 after a bright fireball and many detonations, tens of crusted stones fell over a 7 x 10 km elliptical area E of Estancion La Criolla, Argentina. One 750 gram stone crashed though the roof of a farmhouse.

The La Criolla (L6) meteorite fell in Entre Rios, Argentina, on the 6th January, 1985.
A total mass of 45 kg was recovered.

At 18:15, on the 6th January, a large meteor broke up over La Criolla, Entre Rios province Argentina. Meteorites were found over a 7 x 10 km scatterfield  East of Estancion La Criolla, with one large piece hitting a farmhouse.
Analysis revealed that the fall was of an ordinary L6 Olivine-hypersthene chondrite.

Latitude: 31°13'59.99"S.,  Longitude: 58°10'0.01"W
