Kilbourn fall occurred on June 16, 1911, in Columbia County, Wisconsin. A single stone weighing 772 grams penetrated the roof of a barn occupied by the land owner, William Gaffney. Kilbourn is an H5 chondrite. See more
At about 5:20 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 1911, the meteor fell through the barn roof on my grandfather's farm, which is located on present day Golden Avenue near Big Spring. Some years ago I had the opportunity to visit the farm on Golden Avenue with my aunt, Mae Gaffney Fronk, but do not recall the address.
