Out west, 28 kilometres from Narrabri at the edge of the Pilliga forest, is Yarrie Lake . This natural phenomenon, a perfectly circular 'dish shaped' body of water three kilometres in diameter, is believed to have been formed by a meteorite falling to earth many thousands of years ago. Yarrie Lake is an oasis, popular with water sports fans and photographers at sunset or for a spot of yabbying.
