Title: The Blue Sun

One has often heard the phrase "once in a blue moon" used in reference to some event whose chance of occurrence seemed too remote for reality. Yet on Tuesday, 26th September, 1950, over a wide area of Scotland and England a blue sun and, later, a blue moon were beheld by many wondering eyes. The blue sun was seen next day, Wednesday, in Denmark and in Switzerland, and on Thursday from Gibraltar and the North African coast.
