A loud sonic boom was heard in the Montgomery area of Alabama, US, today.

Houses and windows shook just before 7 a.m. with what some have described as a something similar to a sonic boom.
Calls to the local TV News station came from a variety of areas in the city including the Harrison Road, Selbrook, Birmingham Highway, and Fisk Road areas.

According to the Maxwell Air force base they did not know what may have caused the loud noise.

The Montgomery Police Department has also received calls and as yet has no answer as to what the noise was.
